Leave a legacy
Leaving a gift in your will to the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation will help us to continue transforming the lives of vulnerable and disabled Veterans through the secure and supported housing we provide.
Many people never get round to leaving a gift to charity because they are not sure how much will be left as they get older. The simple solution is to instruct your solicitor that you want to leave a proportion of what is left of your estate, after bequests to family and friends, to your selected charities. This is known as a "residuary legacy". All gifts to UK charities are currently free of Inheritance Tax; your solicitor will be able to give you full details of types of legacy gifts, as well as advice about tax matters.
What your gift could fund:
- Education for Veterans
A gift in your will could help provide computer training and CV workshops to vulnerable Veterans of working age. With a dedicated teacher and individual learning plans, we help many Veterans find employment, while also helping older Veterans learn basic computer skills.
- Provide additional housing
Your gift could help the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation provide additional housing for Veterans in the London area. All newly built homes will be fully wheelchair accessible; each new resident will have a dedicated tenant support worker to help them through their individually tailored support plan, and access to the Foundation's successful health and well-being project.
- Health & Well-Being
Your gift could touch the lives of hundreds of vulnerable Veterans through our health and well-being project work, helping our staff to continue to provide a wide range of activities, including healthy eating cooking classes, gym exercise tuition, Pilates, yoga, allotment supervision and day trips to local attractions.
Why I am remembering the Foundation in my will:
"As an ex-Serviceman, the Foundation is an organisation very close to my heart and I knew I wanted to do something in addition to a regular donation. Legacies are a valuable source of revenue and it's remarkably simple to organise. I'm so pleased I took the time to do it." Mr Mowatt, Canada.
