Temporary Housing

Stoll Mansions provides permanent housing for those who need it, but some people may decide that they feel ready to live in a less supported environment and want to move on. We will help them to find suitable accommodation only when we are sure that they will be able to sustain a tenancy on their own.

In 2001 the Foundation set up Du Cane Road. This is a project managed jointly between the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation and Community Housing and Therapy's Home Base to provide temporary accommodation and support for ex-service personnel who are either homeless or threatened with homelessness. Both the Foundation and Home Base receive substantial support from the Army Benevolent Fund and both are members of the Ex-Service Action Group on Homelessness (ESAG).

The Du Cane Road project has now helped over 60 ex-Service personnel reintegrate themselves back into the community, and has proved a fantastic example of how organisations can work together to provide solutions to this very real problem.
